Bake and enjoy! The timeless flavor of raisin pie was a personal favorite of Amanda Byler’s and is still a Byler family favorite.
2 cup raisins 1 cup sugar
4 cup water 3 egg yolks-beaten
1 cup water 4 tbsp corn starch
1/2 cup half and half or heavy cream
Combine 4 cups of water, raisins and sugar. Bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes.
Mix together the egg yolks, 1 cup of water and corn starch and add to the raisin mixture and heat to a boil.
Remove from heat and stir in half and half/cream
Pour into unbaked pie crust and top with a top crust. Brush top crust with cream and sprinkle with white sugar.
Bake at 350 degrees for approx.. 30 minutes or until crust is browned. Serve with ice cream and enjoy!
